Office of Equality and Diversity
The Office of Equality and Diversity is the central port of call at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) for everything to do with equality of opportunity. To encourage equality of opportunity, FAU implements strategies aimed at ensuring compatibility between studying, working and having a family as well as gender mainstreaming and diversity management strategies.
Gender mainstreaming and diversity management are covered by the Office of Equality and Diversity, and information is provided in our gender and diversity portals. The Office also supports the women’s representatives in fulfilling their tasks. Our brochure gives an overview of the areas we work in, and highlights some of the projects and services offered by the Office of Equality and Diversity.

Up to 10.000 Euro are currently available to support gender research projects. Being part of FAU is necessary requirement for every applicant. DIPHER24 aims to delve deeper into the intersectionality of gender, diversity, and cultural perspectives within the physics community. The conference provides a platform for researchers, educators, students, and professionals to engage in meaningful discussions, share insights, and collaborate towards creating a more inclusive and equitable environment in the Physics Department.
