Religion and belief
FAU is dedicated to promoting religious and ideological diversity over and above the scope of its strategic areas of diversity such as anti-discrimination, equal opportunities in education, inclusion and diversity in gender and sexual-orientation.
In addition to gender, age, nationality, ethnicity, disability and sexual orientation, religion and ideological beliefs are two further key dimensions of diversity. Its vision of a cosmopolitan, diverse and innovative university means that FAU considers it its responsibility to take a constructive approach to the diversity of religion and beliefs of its members.
In 2020, on the initiative of the Vice President People, the working group for the code of conduct on religious and ideological diversity was set up that consists of members of the Diversity Committee as well as other representatives from the chairs of the School of Theology, the department of Islamic Theological Studies, Islamic Studies, Students’ Representatives, the Catholic student community and the Protestant student community, the Central Institute for Anthropology of Religions (ZAR), Facility Management and the Marketing Department.
The working group has the task of drawing up a Code of conduct on religious and ideological diversity at FAU.
The Code of conduct on religious and ideological diversity at FAU was passed by the Executive Board on November 17, 2021.
