Equality Concept 2023 – 2027
The new FAU equality concept 2023-2027 for academic staff
The new FAU equality concept for academic staff was approved by the university management on March 8, 2023.
In order to make equal opportunities a matter of course in practice, it is necessary to further promote and sustainably secure a gender-equitable cultural change at FAU.
This overarching goal will be flanked in the years 2023-2027 by the following focused fields of action:
- Structural anchoring
- Target group-specific career and personnel development
- gender awareness
- Compatibility of studies, job and family
- Protection and prevention in cases of discrimination, harassment and sexual harassment
- monitoring and evaluation
It is the declared goal that a gender and diversity-sensitive as well as family-friendly university and scientific culture at FAU becomes a lasting, self-evident reality.
All stakeholders and decision-makers at all levels of FAU are called upon to jointly and bindingly adopt the defined goals. This is achieved by living gender equality as a cross-sectional task in one’s own area of responsibility and by reflecting on existing structures and processes from this perspective.
The previous development goals of the Equality concept 2018-2022 (currently German version only) will remain as ongoing tasks and requirements in equality work at FAU. These include, for example, increasing the proportion of women in professorships, early support for young female scientists at all qualification and career levels, or ensuring that gender participation is as equal as possible in all decision-making bodies at the university.
